Heidelberg Catechism

Since January on this blog, we’ve gone through the Baptist Catechism.  I tried my best to divide it up appropriately in order to fit it into each Sunday throughout the year.  Thankfully I won’t have that challenge this year.  In 2012, I want to go through the Heidelberg Catechism which has neatly divided the questions for each Lord’s Day of the year.  I’m told that it’s a common practice in some Reformed churches to preach on these questions/answers on Sunday evenings.

Earlier this year, we started going through the Heidelberg Catechism at CRBC.  I love this particular catechism and it’s such a blessing to have.  To be sure, I do not agree with its promotion of paedobaptism and so I will substitute something else in the place of that particular question/answer.  With the exception of this particular objection, it brings me joy to go through this catechism and embrace the teachings contained therein.  I hope this will be the case for you as well!
