I received word this morning at church of a prayer request for one of our sister churches, Providence Reformed Baptist Church of Toledo, Ohio. The economic recession has severely damaged what’s left of the manufacturing sector in that city and this has impacted the church. We were told that a significant number of families left this local church because of the economic stresses. Many unemployed people are leaving the area to find jobs elsewhere.
Please pray for this church as it struggles to maintain itself. Pray that their pastor is able to bring a word of encouragement to his flock, that God would equip him to that end. There’s a great deal of anxiety and the people of God must be reminded of where our hope lies…not in the things of this world. Especially pray for those families who were uprooted by this economic calamity, that they would find solid, like-minded churches in their new communities.
