Pray for Korea

I was going through my devotional readings today when I came across this familiar passage in Matt. 24:6-8…

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.

War is an unfortunate part of this present evil age.  I’m not going to use this post to debate the merits of whether we ought to get involved in any war which breaks out in Korea.  Instead, I simply exhort my readers to pray about this situation.  Pray that peace would prevail.  Pray that God, in His common grace, would extend His hand of protection over the people of this land.

Every time we turn around, it seems like there’s some new crisis.  Right now in Europe, people in various nations are rioting in the streets against their respective governments.  There seems to be a growing instability in the air.  Even so, let us take comfort in the fact that God is still on His throne and that He is sovereign over all things.
